Course Description:

Laying the foundation is the first step for bui9lding the structure of a house. Once the foundation is solid, the construction of the remainder of the house can begin. Similarly, we will begin with the basic tenets of child-centered play therapy, followed by five directive interventions and activities for self-regulation to include self-awareness, impulse control and self-esteem building and self-empowerment.

  2. Identify major contributors to the field of child-centered play therapy

  3. Differentiate between non-directive and directive play therapy

  4. Analyze common myths and misconceptions about play therapy

  5. Describe the process of documenting play therapy treatment plan goals
