Dr. Patricia (Tricia) Martin earned a Master’s in School Psychology, then several years later went back to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Her research was in the area of neuropsychology, curiosity, and motivation. She has worked in medical settings, academia (USF and UVA), and most recently in an independent practice, providing psychological assessment and psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan. She specializes in the area of couples therapy and parenting.
Participants will learn the rational for the “Intentional Dialogue” and be able to execute it
Participants will gain an understanding of the effects of one’s upbringing on an individuals’s notion of an “ideal” partner
Participants will understand the meaning of the “triune brain'“ and why this is important in helping couples to communicate
Participants will exercise skills designed to enhance empathy between partners
Participants will be able to help couples close their “exits”, the practices they use that unwittingly put distance in the relationship.
