Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will gain an understanding of current laws regulating the use of medical marijuana using the context of previous laws regarding marijuana in United States history.
2. Participants will gain understanding of potential benefits clients can receive from use of medical marijuana.
3. Participants will gain understanding of the possible risks to client's use of medical marijuana and will examine their personal and professional values and biases regarding client use of medical marijuana.

Franca Posner holds an undergraduate degree in Education and taught in the Fairfax County Public School system for ten years. She then earned her MSW degree from the Catholic University of America. Her early career was focused on working in host agency settings, primarily hospice care and acute brain injury rehabilitation. She is currently in private practice in Silver Spring, MD and focuses on grief and loss, coping with chronic and acute illnesses, caregiver support, and pregnancy loss and infertility.
