ETHICS TRAINING: Maintaining Professional Ethics and Boundaries with Clients and Colleagues

This interactive session will provide detailed training on issues and concepts related to ethics and professional boundaries. The program will examine professional codes of ethics with emphasis on NASW's and ACA's codes. Contemporary issues impacting ethics are explored. In addition, professional boundaries implied in professional behavioral standards with clients/consumers and colleagues will be addressed. 

Presenter: Dr Phillip W. Lucas, LICSW, LCSW, ACSW is a consultant, trainer and psychotherapist with more than 30 years of direct practice. HIs ongoing work includes: clinical supervision and consultation, quality assurance, professional ethics, disaster and trauma, grief and bereavement, mental health, child welfare, sexuality, substance abuse, suicide prevention, forensics and organizational development. He has been a university professor for two decades. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Howard University School of Social WOrk; an Adjunct Professor at Trinity University DC School of Educational, Clinical Counseling program, and at the George Washington University School of Public Health. As an educator and therapist, Dr. Lucas has along history of work in the area of grief, loss and bereavement. He provides board-approved continuing education (CEU) trainings for health and mental health professionals on a variety of subjects.
