Emily is currently attending Johns Hopkins University for her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She counsels using a person-centered perspective by tailoring interventions to the needs of the client. Emily believes in developing a strong rapport that promotes empathy, understanding, and a positive desire to change. She utilizes concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Treatment, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy in order to meet the needs of each client. Emily believes that building a positive therapeutic relationship with clients, helping clients develop healthy coping skills, and learning to manage emotions will assist them in their path to wellness.
